AUBURN, Wash. - August 26, 2008 - There will be a lane closure on Sumner Tapps Hwy E east of Lake Tapps Parkway E. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 27 - 29 in order to install a new sewer main.

Entries Now Being Accepted for Auburn’s Veterans Day Parade
AUBURN, Wash. – August 25, 2008 - The Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department is now accepting parade applications for the 2008 Veterans Day Parade. Official applications may be picked up at the a Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Office located at 910 Ninth Street SE, downloaded from the City of Auburn’s website at www.auburnwa.gov. Interested applicants may also register on the city’s website. Parade applications must be received by Oct. 10.

Auburn’s First Female Councilmember Passes Away
AUBURN, Wash. – August 19, 2008 – Auburn’s first female city councilmember Dorothy Marion Bothell, 101, passed away on Aug. 17 at her home in Auburn. Her husband who preceded her in death, Howard H. Bothell, was the great-grandson of David C. Bothell, founding father of the City of Bothell.

King County to Conduct Brownfield Assessment at West Valley Highway and Peasley Canyon Rd.
AUBURN, Wash. - July 30, 2008 - The King County Solid Waste Division has received grant funds from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conduct environmental assessment on contaminated brownfield properties. King County’s Brownfields Program uses the funds to hire consultants to conduct the assessment work on behalf of eligible entities.

UPDATED: Road Closure Notice: King County Project to Close SE 304th St from 121st Ave SE - 127th Ave SE
AUBURN, Wash. - July 15, 2008 - King County Road Services Division has informed the City of Auburn that a complete road closure at SE 304th St. SE from 121st Ave. SE to 127th Ave. SE on Lea Hill will begin July 15 at 7 a.m. The closure is anticipated to last until Sept. 2 in order to construct an intersection improvement.

AUBURN, Wash. – June 26, 2008 - The award-winning White River Valley Museum now offers four historic exhibits packaged to rent for one month or longer. The touring exhibits are “Best Friends: Vintage Photographs of Animals and Their People,” “The Interurban Revisited: Historical Photos of the Puget Sound Electric Railway,” “Passenger Trains of Puget Sound: 1900 to 1970” and “Horse Power: A Celebration of the Working Horse in Western Washington.”

Road Work Notice: Sewer line installation on 118th Ave SE, 124th Ave SE, and SE 304th St.
AUBURN, Wash. – February 26, 2008 - The sewer line installation and pavement restoration on SE 304th St and 124th Ave SE has been completed. The portion of roadway surfaces on SE 304th St and 124th Ave SE near and in the intersection will be replaced as part of the King County Round-A-Bout project, which is anticipated to be under construction in the summer of 2008.
