The cold weather has brought some disruptions to our area. Below is the latest information for Friday, February 15:

Service Disruptions

  • Waste Management and Republic Services have resumed service. Customers should put their containers at the curb on their regularly scheduled day.
  • Extra items will be picked up at no extra charge. See guide below on how to set out extra items.
  • Please be advised that the routes will take longer due to the trucks filling up faster than normal.
  • Waste Management will continue their drop off location through Feb. 16 at the WM district facility located at 701 2nd Street NW. February 12 - February 16 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Bring a copy of a recent bill.

The latest forecast as announced by the National Weather Service:

  • Thursday-Saturday: Next storm system moves through the region. At this time it appears that snow levels will quickly rise from sea level to 1000' 
  • Sunday: Drier conditions possible.
  • Monday & Beyond: Additional storm systems likely. Snow levels most likely in the 1000-2000’ range in most areas.


  • As the snow melts we may see some urban flooding. To prevent flooding in your neighborhood, keep storm drains clear of debris.
  • We continue to caution drivers to watch for ice, heavy slush and standing water in places.
