Dear Friends, Clients, and Colleagues,
In an email from the Department of Licensing we received, issued information to clarify the Governor's announcement on March 16th in reference to non-essential services including funerals. According to the governor's proclamation, funerals, or any ceremony with attended observances are prohibited. These events include viewings, visitations, witness cremations, and graveside services are not exempt from the governor's proclamation. I have attached the information that the Department of licensing provided to us for you to review. Any and all services that would include attended observance will need to either be cancelled or delayed until either March 31st or an update from the Governor’s office.

As gut wrenching as this is to all of us it is important that we all do our part to get through all this quickly and effectively. Continued operation of funerals can further spread the virus and extend out the March 31st date.

Mountain View Cemetery will not be permitting any services attended by families or loved ones.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Mountain View Cemetery

Unique to the community, Mountain View Cemetery is a peaceful, quiet, and beautiful setting, nestled on Auburn's west hill overlooking Mt. Rainier and the Green River Valley. The park-like setting includes rolling well-kept lawns, landscaped flowering gardens, and other features attesting to the value of life.

The Cemetery serves many area funeral homes and offers a full range of above-ground and below-ground interment options, including Trigard Burial and Cremation Vaults for families choosing either casket or urn placement.

Military veterans and their spouses have the option of placement in a designated veteran's section. "Child's Place" is an area reserved specifically for children. View the Cemetery Photo Tour.

ForestWalk offers unique landscapes, memorialization, and cremation placement options. View the ForestWalk Tour

Mountain View Cemetery, a division of the City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department, is a self-supporting municipal cemetery that does not rely on any tax revenues for operation or maintenance. A professional staff of six conducts over 300 interments annually and ensures fiscal responsibility. As an endowed care facility, all above ground structures, roadways, turf and landscaping are maintained by City staff now and in the future.
