Access Auburn - The City of Auburn's Wireless Internet Service

Access Auburn is the City of Auburn's guest wireless service. It is available free of charge to all visitors at the following City facilities:

  • Auburn City Hall - 25 W Main St
  • Postmark Center for the Arts - 20 Auburn Avenue
  • One Main Street Professional Building - 1 E Main St
  • Auburn Justice Center - 340 E Main St
  • Auburn Community & Event Center - 910 9th Street SE
  • Auburn Senior Activity Center - 808 Ninth St SE
  • Auburn Golf Course Clubhouse - 29630 Green River Rd SE
  • Outdoor wireless coverage is available at:
    • Les Gove Park (limited areas)
    • Plaza Park (across the street from City Hall)

The City is continuing to expand guest WiFi access in other public areas throughout the City.

Access Auburn is being offered on an "AS IS" basis. The City does not guarantee performance, privacy, or reliability. The free Wi-Fi service has no customer service support. Staff assistance is not available to help you configure your computer. Please note that you will be required to accept Auburn’s Terms of Use Policy as part of the logon procedure.

How can I use the city's Wi-Fi network?
Access Auburn uses the Wi-Fi standard (also known as IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n). Your laptop and cell phone will have wireless built in. Most users can simply bring their laptop computer or other wireless device and turn it on.

How do I connect to the internet through the wireless network?
Wireless access points, located throughout the buildings, communicate with your wireless device. You should be able to connect anywhere in the public areas the same way you connect anywhere else. You will be automatically redirect you to a page displaying the Terms of Use Policy. Accept the policy by selecting the Submit button at the bottom of the page. You are now ready to access the Internet.

Will I need any special settings or passwords to connect?
Access Auburn is open to all guest users; no special settings or passwords are required.

Is my information safe while using wireless?
Access Auburn does not provide security or confidentiality for your computer or data. Connecting your computer to the Internet via Access Auburn could expose it to the same viruses and other security risks as any Internet connection. You are responsible for ensuring that your computer is protected against such threats. The City of Auburn takes no responsibility, and accepts no liability, for any direct or consequential harm to you, your computer equipment, or your other property that may result from your use of Access Auburn.

Can I print while using the City of Auburn Wireless Internet Service?
No. Printing is not available.

Are there any restrictions on my use of the Internet?
Yes. The City of Auburn Wireless Public Use Policy & Guidelines prohibit abusive or illegal activity while using Access Auburn. Access Auburn is filtered. Filters attempt to prevent users from viewing certain portions of the Internet, but they do not guarantee objectionable material will not be displayed. Monitoring a child’s access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian. Remember, Access Auburn is being offered on an AS IS basis. The city does not guarantee performance, privacy, or reliability. Access Auburn has no customer service support. Staff assistance is not available to help you configure your computer. Use of Access Auburn is at your own risk.

IMPORTANT – If you are using a VPN client for secure access to a corporate network, make sure you disable the client prior to connecting to Access Auburn. You can re-enable the client after you have accepted the terms of use and authenticated to Access Auburn.

Please enable pop-ups in your web browser prior to connecting to Access Auburn. This will allow the Logout page to be displayed after you have authenticated to the network. When you are finished with your session, close your browser and choose "logout" in the pop-up to be disconnected from the network.
