Astound your significant other, amaze your friends and family, be the envy of your neighborhood with your very own fused glass creations. Our 2 hour class covers basic types of fusible glass and techniques that will allow you to create two 4x4 tiles and a pendant art piece. Your art pieces will be fired by the instructor and available for pickup 7 days after the class. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration required.

If you love tie-dye and all things blue, Japanese indigo Shibori is for you! In this class, you will learn the traditional art of folding and dip-dyeing fabric to create unique patterns in various shades of blue. Four different binding techniques will be demonstrated (Hajime, Ne-Maki, Arashi, Kumo) using string, stone and wood as shape-resist materials. Students will dye a set of 4 cotton napkins to bring home as a beautiful addition to the dinner table. No experience is needed and all materials will be provided. Note: Dyes are permanent, so please dress accordingly. Apron strongly recommended (will NOT be provided). Pre-registration required.

The perfect print technique for those wanting to explore the power of mass communication from personal postcards to political flyers, or anyone interested in texture and design! Work with a professional printmaker to make a small edition of identical prints, pulled by hand using ink. Learn how to employ safe wood cutting techniques, use oil-based inks, and transfer your original designs on to paper. You can create images as simple as a basic shape or as complicated as a portrait or cityscape. Practice using the press to transfer the ink on paper and a get a demo on how to hand print at home. No experience necessary, and absolutely no need to be good at drawing. Pre-registration required.

The perfect print technique for watercolor painters, or anyone interested in versatility and color! Work with a professional printmaker to make specialized singular prints, called “monotypes” using non-toxic watercolor. Use all kinds of tools to push, pull, lift, spray, and manipulate watercolor on acrylic plates and transparencies. You can create images as simple as a basic shape or as complicated as a portrait or cityscape. Practice using the press to transfer the watercolor on paper and a demo on how to hand print at home. With Monotype printmaking, you can use a variety of materials to create unique images that can be fun surprises or carefully constructed prints- up to you! No experience necessary, and absolutely no need to be good at drawing. Pre-registration required.

Nothing beats Mother Nature’s palette, and rich colors from earth minerals are no exception. In this class, you will learn how to use ancient pigments like iron oxide for Bengala mud fabric dyeing.
