Urban Tree Board

Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration Building, 910 9th St. SE

Regular meetings of the Urban Tree Board are held quarterly the first Tuesday following the first Council meeting of the quarter at 2:00 PM at the Auburn Community & Event Center, located at 910 9th ST SE, Auburn.

The Urban Tree Board provides information and advocacy for "choosing the right tree for the right place", helping Citizens understand the value of proper pruning techniques and in managing an urban forest that is ever changing and needs to fit into the environment of this community through education and involvement.

Board emphasis is on trees in public rights-of-way and on City-owned property. The Board is made up of five members who serve three-year terms.

The Auburn Arts Commission normally meets the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 PM at the Postmark Center for the Arts - 20 Auburn Avenue Auburn, WA 98002.

Within its funds appropriation, the Arts Commission may, alone or in cooperation with any other private, civic or public body of any city, county or the State of Washington, initiate, sponsor or conduct programs calculated to further public awareness of and interest in the visual, cultural and performing arts. The Board consists of twelve members who serve three-year terms.

Civil Service Commission

Regular meetings of the Civil Service Commission are held the second Tuesday of each month at 3:30 PM in the City Hall Conference Room 3, located on the second floor of City Hall at 25 West Main Street in Auburn.

The Civil Service Commission adopts rules and regulations, consistent with State law, for the examination, appointment, demotion, transfer, and promotion of uniformed (Police and Fire) personnel. The Commission hears and determines complaints and appeals.

The Commission consists of three members who serve six-year terms. A member must be a resident of the city for at least three years and a registered voter.

In 1988, upon the petition of business owners and operators, the City of Auburn established the Business Improvement Area (BIA) to aid development of the Central Business District and facilitate merchant and business cooperation to improve trade. The Business Improvement Area Committee of Ratepayers reviews and evaluates the administration of the BIA by the Auburn Downtown Association. The Committee of Ratepayers is comprised of eleven members who serve one-year to three-year terms and are owners or operators of businesses located within the Business Improvement Area and whose businesses are subject to assessments.

Urban Tree Board

Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration Building, 910 9th St. SE

Regular meetings of the Urban Tree Board are held quarterly the first Tuesday following the first Council meeting of the quarter at 2:00 PM at the Auburn Community & Event Center, located at 910 9th ST SE, Auburn.

The Urban Tree Board provides information and advocacy for "choosing the right tree for the right place", helping Citizens understand the value of proper pruning techniques and in managing an urban forest that is ever changing and needs to fit into the environment of this community through education and involvement.

Board emphasis is on trees in public rights-of-way and on City-owned property. The Board is made up of five members who serve three-year terms.

Within its funds appropriation, the Arts Commission may, alone or in cooperation with any other private, civic or public body of any city, county or the State of Washington, initiate, sponsor or conduct programs calculated to further public awareness of and interest in the visual, cultural and performing arts. The Board consists of twelve members who serve three-year terms.

The Parks and Recreation Board advises the Mayor and City Council on planning, development, acquisition and management of City parks, recreation facilities and programs.

The Parks and Recreation Board consists of seven members who serve three-year terms.
